BARROOM TALE
Comedy

Set in a seedy New York barroom with a Bartender, 3 men, 2 women and a very large rat.
The rat quietly drinking his beer at the bar and clearly wants to be left alone, but everyone in the place begins to make jokes and rude comments. The men want to throw him out, but the Bartender says he pays his bills. Next the men say he smells bad, but the women sitting at the bar don't think so. Besides, Susie has her eye on him. "Sure he looks a lot like my old boyfriend, but this guy seems different."
As the patrons continue along these lines, the men get louder, and eventually threaten to take him outside and beat him up. At that the rat stiffens, his mug in mid-air.
Will they apologize or ignore him? When they choose to ignore him, the rat won't have it. He turns and gives the room an ultimatum: Try to kick him out, and he'll tell the cops about the back room. Try to beat him up, and he'll bring a dozen of his buddies tomorrow night.
All go silent as the bar decides to leave him alone to enjoy his beer.
As the curtain falls, Susie decides he's just the rat for her...
