Reporter Ave Cole has come prepared to interview members of a commune that claims to have succeeded in getting rid of all sexual bias. Everyone here is perfectly equal and perfectly happy! Ave doesn't believe it and is ready to dig for the truth. And while the group's founder, "Sky", would love to get rid of Ave, she could also use the publicity. So she allows Ave to interview two members of this unusual commune.
When one interviewee turns out to be Ave's former boyfriend, Robert, things get interesting. Hearing Robert get incredibly emotional as he speaks tips her off that something is very, very wrong here. And when she learns the very young woman has already suffered breast cancer, Ave realizes the commune's secret to "equality" is to give the men given estrogen, and the women, testosterone.
After telling Robert what's happening, she gives him a shot of the testosterone that they find in the lockers.
As it takes effect, Robert tells Ave he came there because he wanted to change... for her. The commune promised he'd become more sensitive and loving. And when he'd accomplished that, he was coming back for her. Weighing everything, Ave explains she'll take him just the way he was? They escape and set the commune free.
And, while the happy couple face a new life together, "Sky" (aka Bunny Freelander) faces 20 to life.
